Named after her paternal grandmother, Isabella is the daughter of FBI Agent Aloysius X. L. Pendergast and his late wife, Helen. Following the death of her mother, Isabella was raised by her father -- an interesting experience to say the least. Isabella does show some signs of the "insanity" that runs through the Pendergast family. A diagnosed manic-depressive with some obsessive tendencies, she has both a regiment of drugs she takes and two highly trained therapists at her disposal, one in New York and one in Louisiana.
